FAQ'S

  • Will I be covered?
Always! Your private areas will always be covered. When we need you to turn over, we will raise the linens so you have room to move, the linens will be blocking the therapist from seeing anything so you may need to let us know when you are in position. We use black linens to ensure no one can see threw the linens if you request the blanket off at anytime We will only expose the area of the body we are working on to keep you comfortable. If we need to move your limbs in any way, we make sure we wrap the sheets around all sides of them limbs before moving. We even hand you both edges of the linens when we drape the legs (called a diaper drape for a reason)
  • First Massage?
You don't know what you don't know If this is your first massage ever you may not even know what to ask you just feel like this is unfamiliar and you want to know more You will enter the waiting area, most likely you will be greeted by the massage therapist, If not make yourself comfortable in our chaise lounges We will introduce ourselves and bring you into the treatment room. You can use the bathroom before we start if you need, If you need to mid-session we do have a fresh robe and slippers waiting so you can avoid redressing altogether. We will ask a few questions to verify what we should focus on and decide how to craft the best session for you. We will have you undress after we leave the room to wash our hands. (underwear on or off doesn't matter to us!) We typically start face down but you will be instructed. You will slide under the linens and wait until you hear us knock. when we come in we may adjust the table so you are comfortable. we will let you know when we first add any heat, to not startle you (the first steam towel or the first stones we use) We will walk you threw the flipping process- you may need to turn over to face up and scoot down to your feet. ( the circle face cradle is taken out when your face up ) We end with you still covered. leaving a dry and a steam towel for you, as we exit and wash our hands again. Your therapist will meet you in the waiting area to check you out and re-book You are free to chat if that relaxes you or you can take it all in silently. Yes people fall asleep - many snore, flinch drool and fart nothing phases us! We are not judging if you shaved your legs or what shape your body is in - like everyone else we judge you by how you treat waiters (just kidding!)
  • How often should I get a massage?
4-6 weeks in general We recommend 4-6 weeks as routine if you use your body a lot for work, and this includes sitting (it is very taxing on your joints and muscles) you may want to make it monthly. Your daily life will slowly add tension make on and we want to be taking it away at least at the same pace. If you have been out of a routine or experience a specific issue that is more chronic we may suggest grouping a few sessions closer together at first to help get your body back to its baseline. If you have any questions specific to you, please feel free to ask! Think of massage as an oil change for your car, its maintenance but some people put a lot of hard miles on their car in a short time and need more care. While others are gentle and can expand the time frame longer.
  • Where are you located?
15 Ermer road Salem NH unit 210 The building is green. You will see businesses such as MOOs ice cream and Edward Jones from the road (route 111) To enter use the center entrance located between Tessi's pizza and Unity yoga. Proceed upstairs (a lift is available at the entrance to the right - West entrance not the center entrance if needed) Unit 210 is down the right wing hallway. The door is clearly marked and on the left. Please come in and have a seat! We may be in a session but we hear the door chime. We will be with you shortly. Appointments only please.
  • Do you have to tip?
Always appreciated never expected! This is a service-based industry so we appreciate tips and will gladly accept them with a smile, but we will never expect you to tip. Tipping culture has become exhausting lately and we are not in charge of your finances, so we do not judge how much you tip or if you do not tip. This decision will never alter the service you receive with us.
  • How do I know the amount of pressure I want?
Oh you will know! You might not know on your very first massage session, it can be like Goldie locks and the three bears. You might feel sore or tender a few days after and decide you don't like that feeling so adjust lighter. Maybe you feel the results were not as intense as you'd like so request a bit deeper. Every therapist and every client has a different gauge on light medium and deep but if you begin to clench and tighen up that is your body saying its too much. This makes it impossible for us to work muscles that have other muscles layered on top. Some areas also can be more tender than others, We have found the IT band (outside the leg) is sensitive so we go easier here but if that doesn't sound familiar you can always ask for more pressure. ASKING FOR MORE OR LESS PRESSURE DOES NOT HURT OUR FEELINGS WE WANT YOU TO LET US KNOW IT WILL HELP US MAKE SURE YOU GET WHAT YOU NEED.
  • What if you aren't satisfied?
You get your money back You will not be charged for a service you believe was not worth the money. We won't make you jump threw hoops, (although we strive to always be better and love feedback we won't ask you to justify your reasons) We understand the Massage therapist client relationship is exactly that a relationship and its not always a perfect fit. We compare it to Art. Not everyone gets Picasso, I'm more of a Leonardo Divinci girl myself. We don't want you to invest in something you don't believe is worth the price. We can always suggest other therapist or establishments so you can get the perfect experience for you.
  • Allergies?
Products :We carry a varied of products for this reason. Many lotions contain tree nuts and can cause reactions so we can swap out for jojoba oil which tends to work great it is hypoallergenic organic and from one single ingredient. Scents: We can not guarantee there will be no scents if you have a sensitivity to smells in general but we have a copper plates cabinet that we can store our fragrances and essential oils in for your visit so they do not irritate your sinuses, we also recommend booking the first session of the day when possible to avoid any lingering aromatherapy.
